The Role
Are you a caring, compassionate individual who is passionate about making a difference to patients and families? As a Health Care Support Worker within our Obstetrics & Gynaecology services, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Working alongside Registered Nurses, Midwives and other healthcare professionals, you will help ensure patients receive safe, effective and compassionate care throughout their hospital journey. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Hospital: Princess Royal Maternity Hospital
- Roles Available: Part-time and full-time
- Shift Patterns: 7.5hr and 11.55hr shift patterns, days and nights
- Type of Posts: Permanent
- Note: The salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care and support to patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Midwives
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing and repositioning
- Observe and report changes in patients' physical or emotional wellbeing to the appropriate clinical staff
- Maintain accurate patient records and support effective communication within the multidisciplinary team
- Promote dignity, respect, compassion and person-centred care for patients, relatives and carers
- Support housekeeping, stock control and the safe use of equipment within the ward environment
- Follow NHSGGC policies and procedures relating to confidentiality, infection prevention, health and safety and safe working practices

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required
- SVQ II qualification in a relevant area or equivalent experience gained through employment, training and development
- Previous experience in a caring role or healthcare environment would be advantageous
- Ability to work effectively in a busy clinical setting and prioritise allocated tasks appropriately
- Strong verbal and written communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating a caring and professional approach
- Awareness of infection prevention, health and safety, patient confidentiality and professional standards of practice
- Commitment to completing mandatory learning, in-house training and ongoing personal development activities
