The Role
As a Clinical Support Worker within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Community Mental Health Services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health conditions and learning disabilities to live safely and independently within their communities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide person-centred care, monitor wellbeing, and support individuals to achieve meaningful goals. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Location: Glasgow City HSCP
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00
- Contract: Permanent, full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care and support to individuals within community mental health services under the direction of a registered nurse
- Observe, monitor and report changes in service users' physical and psychological wellbeing to support safe and effective care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and written patient records to ensure effective communication across the care team
- Act as a named co-worker for service users when required, supporting care planning, goal setting and ongoing engagement
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, carers, families and external agencies to maximise patient outcomes
- Support the delivery of psychosocial interventions, community-based activities and group programmes following appropriate training
- Promote safe working practices, patient confidentiality and effective use of resources in line with local and national policies

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required
- Previous experience in a caring role, preferably within a healthcare or mental health setting
- A genuine interest in supporting individuals experiencing mental ill health and promoting recovery-focused care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while building positive working relationships
- Confidence in working independently and managing assigned responsibilities within agreed guidelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage sensitively with service users, carers and colleagues
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively within a busy and demanding environment
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel within the community, as driving is an essential requirement of the post
