The Role
Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of patients and their families? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join the Frailty Unit within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will support older adults living with frailty and complex healthcare needs throughout their hospital journey, delivering compassionate, person-centred care. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
Glasgow Royal Infirmary
Monday to Sunday, 12 hour day & night shifts
Various full-time and part-time positions available
Permanent roles
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care for patients within the Frailty Unit
- Assist patients with activities of daily living while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing
- Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses to contribute to all aspects of patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team
- Accurately record and report patient information in line with local policies and procedures
- Contribute positively to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming clinical environment
- Provide compassionate support to patients throughout their hospital journey, helping to deliver the highest standards of care

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical environment
- A caring, respectful and professional approach to patient care at all times
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm in a fast-paced setting
- Previous experience within a healthcare environment is desirable, particularly within acute or elderly care services
- Commitment to maintaining patient dignity, privacy and wellbeing while upholding NHS values
