Health Data Engineer (Associate Consultant)

Business area: Health

Location: London and Winchester

Job ID: 325730

Location: London or Winchester

Hybrid working: As per departmental requirements

In 2020, LCP launched its Health practice, providing analytical and research services across healthcare and life sciences. Our team brings together clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists, and health data scientists, alongside LCP’s established actuarial, analytics, and technology expertise, to develop innovative solutions to some of the most important challenges in health. We have grown rapidly in response to strong demand for our services and are now looking for a Health Data Engineer (Associate Consultant) to help scale our delivery capability.

You will play an important part in strengthening LCP Health’s capabilities in delivering analytics projects where there is a requirement to construct analytical databases from clients’ raw and unstructured data. Additionally, you will support the data engineering function by maintaining and enhancing data infrastructure and processes.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply modern engineering and automation approaches to complex, high-impact problems in healthcare and life sciences.

What will you be doing?

As a Health Data Engineer (Associate Consultant) in LCP’s Health team, you will work across a diverse range of data engineering projects that support both client delivery and the development of reusable internal capabilities.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Design and implement robust data models to support analytical, reporting, and operational requirements across complex health data
  • Develop and maintain analytical databases that integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
  • Develop and maintain reliable, production-grade technical infrastructure to support analytical and operational processes
  • Automate and improve workflows across data processing, data management, analysis, and reporting
  • Implement testing, validation, and monitoring processes to improve the robustness, accuracy, and maintainability of pipelines and applications
  • Contribute to good engineering practice through documentation, code review, version control, and continuous improvement of technical standards
  • Identify opportunities to improve data management, engineering processes, and delivery approaches across the LCP Health team
  • Support cloud-based architecture, particularly in Azure, including performance optimisation, resilience, and scalability
  • Work closely with clinicians, analysts, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists, and other colleagues to turn complex analytical requirements into practical engineering solutions
  • Support the secure, reliable, and appropriately governed use of automation and AI tools, particularly in contexts involving sensitive or high-assurance health data

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
