Company Description
Life Education Wessex & Thames Valley is an independent charity working with primary schools across Wessex (Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall) and the Thames Valley (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, East Swindon). As a delivery partner of Coram Life Education, the organization supports relationships, health, wellbeing, and drugs education for children under the strapline “Helping Children Make Healthy Choices.”
Specially trained Educators use evidence-based, interactive, and creative methods to engage children aged 3–13 through workshops delivered in classrooms, school halls, and via SCARF Live Online. Children take part in discussions, drama, group activities, and short films, often alongside Harold the Giraffe puppet, to explore healthy eating, the human body, mental wellbeing, drugs education, friendships, and the impact of choices and behaviors.
The SCARF framework (Safety, Caring, Achievement, Resilience, Friendship) provides schools with online resources that support a whole-school approach and meet all DfE statutory requirements for Relationships and Health Education in primary schools.

Role Description
The Health Educator is a full-time, on-site role based in Hampshire, IL, responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate health and wellbeing education to children in primary school settings. Day-to-day activities include:
- Planning and facilitating interactive workshops in classrooms and school halls
- Using creative teaching tools, puppets, digital resources, and group activities to promote healthy lifestyle choices
- Tailoring content to different age groups
- Supporting SCARF values
- Reinforcing key messages around nutrition, physical activity, mental wellbeing, substance education, and positive relationships
The role involves:
- Collaborating with school staff to schedule sessions
- Ensuring alignment with curriculum requirements
- Providing a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Maintaining educational materials
- Collecting feedback
- Contributing to continuous improvement of program content and delivery

Qualifications
- Strong foundations in health-focused instruction, including Health Education and Community Health.
- Knowledge of lifestyle and wellness topics, such as Nutrition and Physical Education.
- Experience or training in Education, particularly working with children and delivering interactive lessons.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of children.
- Ability to work on-site in Hampshire, IL, including travel to local schools as needed.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in health education, public health, teaching, or a related field.
- Comfort with using digital resources and online platforms to support learning.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting the wellbeing and safety of all children.
