Health and Fitness Manager
Swan Pool and Leisure Centre, Buckingham, MK18 1AE
Permanent, Part-time - 20 hours per week (flexible working pattern to support the needs of the centre and its members)
£14,500 per annum for 20 hours p/w + benefits package

In this role, you'll lead and develop the health and fitness offer at Swan Pool and Leisure Centre, helping more people achieve their wellbeing goals while supporting sustainable growth across the facility. By creating a welcoming environment, driving participation, and developing colleagues, your work will have purpose and deliver a positive impact on communities now and in the future.
What you'll do as a Health and Fitness Manager
- Lead and support the health and fitness team to deliver a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience for members and visitors.
- Maintain a visible presence in the gym, engaging with customers, supporting colleagues, and ensuring excellent service standards.
- Manage and develop the group exercise programme, ensuring classes meet customer demand and encourage participation.
- Monitor performance indicators including membership growth, retention, gym usage, and class attendance, taking action to drive continuous improvement.
- Support membership sales, retention campaigns, and engagement initiatives to increase participation and create impactful solutions for customers.
- Ensure fitness facilities, equipment, and activities operate safely and in line with company policies and health and safety requirements.

Does this sound like you?
- Level 3 Fitness Instructor qualification essential.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
- Experience working within a commercial fitness environment.
- Experience leading or supervising teams and supporting colleague development.
- Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyse performance data and use insights to improve results.

Vetting and checks
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
