Health Insurance Practice Lead / Senior Actuary - Actuarial Consulting

Location: London
Level: Principal / Partner

Miryco Consultants is working with a leading global management consultancy that is looking to appoint a senior Qualified Actuary to lead and further develop its Health Insurance offering.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an established insurance professional with deep knowledge of the Health Insurance market and the credibility to operate with senior executives across insurers, healthcare businesses, and wider financial services organizations.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in developing the Health Insurance proposition, building client relationships, originating new opportunities, and delivering high-value actuarial and strategic advice.

The Opportunity

You will play a key role in shaping the firm's Health Insurance practice, combining technical actuarial expertise with strong commercial and client leadership.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop the Health Insurance proposition.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with insurance and healthcare clients.
  • Originate new business and identify opportunities across the Health Insurance market.
  • Lead major client engagements and provide senior actuarial and strategic advice.
  • Advise clients on areas including pricing, product strategy, portfolio performance, capital, risk, and broader business strategy.
  • Develop innovative solutions to support clients through complex market and business challenges.
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert across the Health Insurance market.
  • Represent the business externally and build its profile within the sector.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop actuarial and consulting professionals within the wider team.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop the firm's broader insurance strategy and proposition.

About You

We are looking for a fully qualified actuary with significant experience in the insurance industry and a strong understanding of the Health Insurance market.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Full actuarial qualification.
  • Significant experience within Health Insurance, ideally across a broad range of actuarial and strategic disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of Health Insurance products, markets, and business models.
  • A proven track record of working with senior insurance stakeholders.
  • Experience leading client relationships and major consulting or strategic engagements.
  • Strong commercial and business development capability.
  • The ability to identify opportunities and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading teams and developing junior talent.
  • The credibility and gravitas to operate at senior executive and Board level.
  • A combination of strong technical actuarial expertise and commercial judgement.
