The opportunity
We are looking for a health & safety advisor to join the team on Hinkley Point C, the nuclear power station currently underway in Bridgwater, Somerset. Here you will champion a holistic approach to physical and psychological health and safety – addressing the unique risk factors in construction. You would provide local advice and support to assist managers and staff to fulfil their safety responsibilities to the high standards demanded. Acting as a point of support for projects when communicating with enforcement bodies.
What will the role look like?
- Ensure delivery of collective insights/ collaborative conversations to identify, through conversation, what works and why it works and what is not working and why it is not working.
- Establish delivery of positive investigations/ appreciative enquiries and engage with the workforce to understand how success is created within the business and what our people need and rely upon to replicate that success.
- Ensure discovery feedback is regularly gathered from the staff and workforce and communicate it to directors and management to allow effective Inclusion + Wellbeing leadership.
- Guarantee innovation, research, and adoption of cutting edge, market leading products, technologies, methods and services is regularly promoted, captured and shared to support the delivery of Inclusion + Wellbeing.
- Ensure the production of project/ establishment Inclusion + Wellbeing strategy is completed in line with the Business Stream Policy Deployment H&S Strategy.
- Promote learning in the projects by effectively cascading business and industry communications.
- Lead projects in setting Inclusion + Wellbeing maturity goals, inspire progress and report performance as required.

What skills & experience are we looking for?
- Qualification at level 3 (min)
- Technical knowledge in Occupational Health risk management and wellbeing.
- Technical knowledge in Safety risk management.
- Member of relevant professional body.
