Job Introduction
We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Listers Group team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic health and safety professional to play a key role in supporting and promoting a positive safety culture across our business.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will provide practical health and safety support to our dealerships and operational sites, helping to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards. You will act as a trusted advisor, responding to day-to-day health and safety enquiries, conducting site inspections and audits, investigating accidents and incidents, and supporting managers with effective risk management solutions.
The role involves regular travel to Listers locations, where you will work closely with site teams to identify opportunities for continual improvement, maintain accurate compliance records, and promote best practice. You will also assist with the development of risk assessments, policies and procedures, as well as delivering health and safety training and awareness initiatives to support a strong and sustainable safety culture.
This position would suit an organised and confident individual who enjoys building relationships, working independently, and making a positive impact on workplace safety.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.
Role And Responsibilities
You'll play a key role in supporting Health & Safety compliance across the Listers Group, helping to create safe, compliant and engaging workplaces.
- Providing practical Health & Safety advice and support across the business.
- Carrying out site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and driving improvements.
- Producing and reviewing risk assessments, safe systems of work and policies.
- Supporting the delivery of Health & Safety training and awareness initiatives.
- Monitoring leading indicators, accident trends and compliance performance and producing clear, pragmatic reports and action plans.
- Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture through coaching, engagement and support.
- Regular travel to Listers locations to build relationships and provide on-site guidance.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and approachable Health & Safety professional who can combine compliance expertise with a practical, common-sense approach. To succeed in this role, you'll be a hands-on Health & Safety professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems and helping colleagues create safer workplaces.
You will:
- Hold an IOSH qualification (minimum).
- Dealership / Automotive experience preferred but not essential.
- Be confident conducting investigations, audits and risk assessments.
- Have excellent communication skills and be able to influence at all levels.
- Take a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and compliance.
- Be organised, self-motivated and able to manage a varied workload.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel across the Group.
