Health, Safety and Environment Manager
Full Time, Permanent
Lovell has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Environment Manager to join our East Midlands region, based from our Derby office and supporting projects across the region. Reporting directly to the Regional Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture across our construction operations, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, performance and continual improvement.
This is a highly visible regional position where you will provide expert guidance and support to project and management teams, helping to create safe working environments while driving best practice across all areas of health, safety and environmental management. You will lead inspections and audits, support incident prevention initiatives, ensure compliance with company policies and integrated management system procedures, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify risks and deliver effective solutions.
The successful candidate will undertake regular inspections and audits across projects and regional offices, ensuring all required documentation, notices, certificates and emergency information are in place and up to date. You will provide advice and guidance to operational teams, support improvement plans where required, liaise with enforcing authorities and statutory bodies, and help ensure the region maintains full compliance with relevant legislation and company standards. You will also support the delivery of training and promote a proactive approach to accident and incident prevention.

We are seeking an experienced health, safety and environment professional with a strong construction background, ideally gained within housebuilding, housing refurbishment or wider residential construction. You will hold a relevant NEBOSH qualification or equivalent and maintain membership of a professional body such as IOSH. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards is essential, while an environmental qualification such as IEMA would be advantageous.
As this role covers multiple projects throughout the East Midlands region, a full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential. You will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, an enquiring mindset and a genuine passion for promoting a safe, sustainable and compliant working environment. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying up to date with industry legislation and best practice is equally important.
