This exciting role within Knauf Insulation could be the perfect next opportunity for you to build a unique career, in a values-led culture with a clear purpose of making tomorrow a home for all of us. We are a global manufacturer of construction materials and within our Group, our 41,500 team members in 90 countries across 300 sites provide a huge opportunity for anyone with ambition and energy. We value everyone's contribution equally and we ask that you bring your whole self to work, to enrich the business further, as together we achieve more in a safe and inclusive environment.

About the Role

As Health and Safety Manager, you will be integral to leading the cultural change towards improved health and safety awareness and standards across the site, balancing the contemporary challenges of Health and Safety Legislation and Guidance with the needs of a continual manufacturing organisation so that the Site attains the performance targets set for Safety and Compliance.

You will assist and support the Plant Manager and the Leadership team to ensure that the Plant meets its legal requirements and corporate objectives in all safety and environmental aspects by undertaking regular audits, inspections, tests, and assessments as required.

You will also manage all aspects of health, safety, and environment including fire safety and coordinate and lead all integrated management system implementation and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out regular periodic audits of operational practice, Knauf Insulation procedures (both Group and local) involving and working collaboratively with key personnel and those responsible for compliance with such procedures and work instructions so that Operating Standards and personal accountability are continually reinforced.
  • Arrange, carry out, and lead HSE inspections, sampling, monitoring/tests in order to assess compliance and non-conformances and establish trend data in team, individual, and plant/equipment performance.
  • Lead or assist with risk assessments, accident and incident investigations so that hazards and unsafe practices are identified, cause of accidents and incidents is established, and remedial plans are put in place and the relevant teams implement the plan.
  • Work in partnership with the Management team to organise statutory and safety training so that arrangements are in place and agreed to ensure that scheduled attendances occur.
  • Deliver in-house health and safety training so that all personnel are educated in statutory requirements and best practice and understand their personal responsibility to work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Representation at relevant meetings providing succinct and considered input so that the Chairman and attendees are informed and guided on issues and opportunities and develop effective plans and actions.
  • Act as the "Responsible person" for Water Cooling Towers and allied systems and ensure all legal requirements set out in the Approved Code of Practice are understood and complied with.
  • Liaise as necessary with other organisations and relevant authorities (such as the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency, and the Fire Regulatory Authorities), and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
  • Maintain all necessary recording and reporting documents.
  • Respect the Knauf values: Commitment, Entrepreneurship, Partnership, and Menschlichkeit and apply them in your daily work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
