About the Role
We are seeking a technically competent, commercially aware and client-focused Health, Safety & Fire Consultant to join our growing consultancy team. Supporting clients across residential, commercial and mixed-use properties, you will deliver practical fire safety and health & safety consultancy services, helping clients manage risk, meet legal obligations and maintain safe, compliant environments.
You will undertake fire risk assessments, health & safety audits, inspections and consultancy reviews, producing clear reports, prioritised action plans and practical recommendations. You'll provide advice on fire safety, property compliance, contractor management, workplace risk and emergency planning.
This is a varied, client-facing role where you'll apply technical expertise and professional judgement to deliver practical solutions. Working alongside specialists across fire, health & safety, water hygiene, asbestos and wider compliance disciplines, you'll have opportunities to develop your expertise, contribute to service improvements and help clients create safer environments.

What You’ll Be Getting Up To
- Undertake suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments across residential, commercial, mixed-use and other complex property environments.
- Undertake health and safety audits, inspections and risk assessments across managed property portfolios, including residential estates, commercial premises and mixed-use developments.
- Produce clear, evidence-based fire safety and health and safety reports, including proportionate findings, risk ratings, prioritised action plans and practical recommendations.
- Provide competent advice to clients, duty holders, responsible persons, property managers and facilities teams on fire safety, health and safety legislation, statutory compliance and risk management.
- Assess fire safety management arrangements, emergency planning procedures, evacuation arrangements and supporting compliance documentation.
- Review fire doors, compartmentation, fire stopping and passive fire protection measures as part of wider fire safety consultancy activity.
- Review client arrangements for risk assessments, accident reporting, maintenance records, inspections, planned works, permits, policies, procedures and contractor control.
- Support clients with property-related health and safety matters including work at height, slips and trips, asbestos management, legionella control, lifts, plant rooms, playgrounds, car parks, communal areas and contractor activities.
- Support clients in understanding legislative requirements, compliance obligations, industry guidance and emerging building safety requirements.
- Maintain robust inspection records, photographic evidence, supporting documentation and quality assurance discipline.
- Work closely with clients, property managers, facilities teams, contractors and internal colleagues to deliver practical, commercially aware and client-focused consultancy solutions.
- Manage site visits, workload and reporting deadlines to achieve agreed client service levels.
- Contribute to quality assurance, peer review and continuous improvement activity to improve technical consistency, report quality and client outcomes.
- Maintain professional competence through CPD, professional membership, legislative updates, industry engagement and lessons learned from quality assurance reviews.

What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from experienced Fire, Health and Safety Consultants, Fire Risk Assessors, Health and Safety Advisors or property compliance professionals who can demonstrate relevant competence across either fire safety, health and safety, or ideally both. This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and can provide clear, practical advice to clients operating in managed property, facilities management, housing, residential estates or commercial property environments.
In order to excel in this role you need:
- Recognised fire risk assessment qualification (Level 4 FRA, NEBOSH Fire, CFPA, FPA or equivalent) and a health & safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate minimum; Diploma desirable).
- Professional membership (IFE, IFSM, IOSH, IIRSM or equivalent) with a commitment to ongoing CPD.
- Experience undertaking fire risk assessments, health & safety audits, inspections and consultancy activities across residential, commercial or mixed-use properties.
- Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety and health & safety legislation, regulations and industry guidance.
- Ability to communicate technical requirements clearly and provide practical, proportionate and risk-based solutions.
- Strong report-writing, evidence-gathering and quality assurance skills.
- Confident managing client relationships, working independently and delivering high-quality outputs to deadline.

Role Details
- Location: Field Based for two/three days per week with two/three days home based report writing
- Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday from 9am – 5:30pm
- Reporting to: Regional Team Manager
