📍 Petty Pool Vocational College, Sandiway, Cheshire 💷 £31,508.31 – £35,462.88 pro rata £39,385.38 – £44,328.59 FTE ⏰ 28 hours per week over four days, 52 weeks per year 📅 Closing date: Thursday 6 August 2026
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Health, Safety and Medical Compliance Officer to join Petty Pool Vocational College.
Reporting to the Head of Estates and Strategy, you will act as the College’s designated competent person for health and safety. You will help us maintain a safe, compliant and supportive environment for our students, staff, contractors and visitors.
You will also oversee the safe management and monitoring of medication administration across the College, ensuring that our procedures, records and staff competencies meet regulatory requirements and support the individual needs of our students.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- Lead on health and safety compliance, policies and risk assessments.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and incident investigations.
- Coordinate fire safety, emergency planning and statutory reporting.
- Monitor medication storage, administration and record-keeping.
- Investigate medication errors and near misses.
- Provide health and safety and medication-management training.
- Support managers with staff competency assessments and student healthcare plans.
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the College.

About you
You will hold:
- A recognised health and safety qualification, such as NEBOSH or equivalent.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- A recognised healthcare, nursing or medication-administration qualification, or equivalent relevant training.
You will be confident providing professional advice, working collaboratively with colleagues and turning regulatory requirements into clear and effective working practices.
