Role Description
The Health & Safety Associate Trainer position is a contracted role for the delivery of NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications for employers and local industry as part of the college’s commercial training unit (CWA Training) course portfolio. Delivery of the training will predominately take place at the University Centre on the King's Lynn campus, in a modern and professional learning environment. The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing health and safety training qualifications for learners, ensuring content aligns with current legislation and best practice. The Associate Trainer will design training materials, support learners’ progression, and provide guidance on safe working practices across a range of educational and practical settings, whilst maintaining accurate training records and meeting NEBOSH and IOSH tutor criteria.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety principles and legislation, with practical experience applying them in workplace or educational environments
- A NEBOSH National/International Diploma or an equivalent recognised occupational safety and health qualification, and commitment to ongoing professional development
- Clear and effective Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex safety concepts in an accessible way
- Experience in Training delivery, including planning, facilitating, and evaluating learning sessions for diverse groups
- Specific expertise in Safety Training, such as risk assessment, incident reporting, and safe operating procedures
- Have previous experience in the further education or vocational training sector delivering NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications
- Membership with an appropriate professional body (such as GradIOSH, CMIOSH, or IIRSM) is strongly preferred
- Hold a minimum of a Level 3 Award in Education and Training training qualification
