About the Role
Join Direct Table Foods as our new Health & Safety Co-ordinator on a 3 month fixed term contract.
We’re looking for a motivated and organised Health & Safety Co-ordinator to support our SHE Manager in maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture across Direct Table Foods.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a keen interest in health and safety who wants to develop their career in a supportive and practical environment. You’ll play a key role in helping ensure the workplace is safe, compliant, and aligned with our values. We are looking for someone with a positive work attitude who has sound IT literacy.
You will also need good written and oral communication skills and the ability to develop and implement health and safety performance related systems and procedures.

Ideally you will already be experienced in a health and safety role with working knowledge of UK safety, health and environmental law, with a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent. However, for the right person, full training would be given.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote awareness of suitable and relevant health and safety policies and procedures
- Ensure that the company provides a safe workplace without risk to safety and health
- Ensure that the company provides safe plant and machinery, alongside safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances
- Complete proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments
- Provision of emergency procedures, first aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment
- Help maintain health and safety records, reports, and documentation
- Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems
- Complete weekly departmental checks and monthly site audits
- Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents
- Consult and communicate any health and safety related matters with employees
- Assist with the Health and Safety Committee
- Maintain first aid and fire marshal requirements
- Support the delivery of health, safety and environmental initiatives on site
