About the Role
Health, Safety & Compliance Lead: We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team at Ageas UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead Health & Safety across our UK business. You'll shape our strategy, improve the way we work, and help create a positive safety culture where everyone feels responsible for keeping themselves and others safe.
Your base office will be Eastleigh, but this is a multi-site role and regular travel to our UK locations will be an important part of the position. You'll build strong relationships with colleagues across the business and provide visible Health & Safety leadership at all of our operational sites.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve our Health & Safety strategy, policies and management system across eight UK sites.
- Travel regularly to our UK locations to carry out audits, inspections, risk assessments and provide on-site Health & Safety support.
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and maintain compliance with ISO 45001 or an equivalent management system.
- Develop engaging Health & Safety training, communications, and awareness campaigns that help build a positive safety culture.
- Produce meaningful reports and dashboards, using data to identify trends, reduce risk and support better decision making.
- Partner with teams across Property, Facilities, HR, Operations, Legal and ESG to embed safe ways of working into everyday business activities.
- Manage contractor safety, CDM requirements, emergency planning, fire safety, DSE assessments, and business continuity Health & Safety activities.
- Act as the organisation's competent Health & Safety professional, working with regulators, insurers and external auditors.
Skills and Experience
- A NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Experience leading Health & Safety in a multi-site commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and how to apply it in practice.
- Experience implementing or maintaining an ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System.
- A proven track record of improving safety culture and influencing leaders at all levels.
- Experience managing contractors, construction, fit-out projects or CDM environments.
- Strong analytical skills with experience producing reports, dashboards, and performance insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the flexibility to travel regularly between our UK sites.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
