Become a Health & Safety Coordinator
As our Health and Safety Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our colleagues and customers. Your expertise in health and safety management will be key to our success. You'll oversee health and safety processes, conduct risk assessments, and support ongoing projects within the People team.
Your Mission
- Oversee health and safety processes, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Manage health and safety incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align health and safety objectives and drive business success.
- Develop and implement health and safety training programmes to enhance team capabilities and support safety initiatives.
- Prepare and present health and safety reports, providing regular updates and insights to senior leadership.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the health and safety function.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager, to support ongoing projects within the People team.
- Communicate effectively with employees, regarding health and safety queries and processes.
Skills/Behaviours That Will Set You Apart
- Proven experience in health and safety management, within multi-site retail, distribution, and support centre operations or similar.
- Proactive approach to identifying and delivering health and safety initiatives, that enhance engagement and promote a strong safety culture.
- Support and carry out audits and inspections, ensuring sites always remain compliant and audit ready.
- Strong skills in conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation measures.
- Experience in managing health and safety incidents and ensuring timely resolution.
- Experience in maintaining and developing digital incident management systems, to support effective reporting, investigation, and incident trend analysis.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills to support decision-making, identify opportunities for improvement, and produce meaningful KPI reports to track health and safety performance.
- Strong communication skills, including presenting to and influencing senior leadership.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing health and safety training programmes.
