EHS Advisor – Major HV Infrastructure and Utilities Projects

Contract: 12-month rolling contract
Duration: Long-term project programme
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £400-£500 per day – Ltd / Outside IR35
Location: Slough, London

Turner Lovell are currently recruiting for an experienced EHS Advisor to join a major HV infrastructure project in Slough. The project involves the construction of a new 132kV substation, approximately 8 miles of utility cable installation, cable pulling and jointing works, alongside the development of a major data centre. The programme is being delivered across multiple phases and is expected to continue for several years.

You will work closely with the project team, contractors, and wider supply chain to provide hands-on EHS support across a range of complex HV, utility, and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day EHS support and guidance across the project
  • Monitor and promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety observations
  • Review RAMS and safe systems of work
  • Support safe delivery of HV substation, utility, and cable installation works
  • Monitor contractor and supply chain compliance
  • Provide practical guidance to site teams and contractors
  • Support safety meetings, briefings, and toolbox talks
  • Identify risks and opportunities for improvement across site activities
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across the project

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an EHS/HSE Advisor within HV, utilities, energy, data centre, or major infrastructure projects
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within HV environments
  • GradIOSH – essential
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • Experience working around 132kV substations or similar HV infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of utility and cable installation activities
  • Experience working around cable pulling, jointing, or deep excavation works would be beneficial
  • HSG47 and Street Works experience/certification would be highly advantageous
  • Electrical/HV bias would be advantageous
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working 5 days per week on site
