ROLE OVERVIEW

To promote Health, Safety and Environmental awareness within the Birmingham Region

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote a positive Health and Safety culture within the company by giving professional advice and assist in arranging training i.e. toolbox talks
  • Investigate and report all accidents and near misses
  • Provide a detailed Monthly Safety report to the Group SHEQ advisor
  • Discharge any specific duties set out in supporting procedures and management systems
  • Be up to date on legislation changes and advise where necessary
  • Active assistance with interpretation and implementation of Health, Safety and Environmental objectives into the work environment
  • Monitor and review the performance and effectiveness of arrangements for Management of Health, Safety and Environmental issues
  • Contribute to Monthly / Quarterly SHEQT Meetings
  • Stop any unsafe working practices that are observed
  • Carry out regular Office and Site safety & environmental inspections and submit reports
  • Assist and advise during tender, planning and design stages of contracts
  • Assist and advise in the assessment of the competency of subcontractors and their workforce
  • Carry out and advise on the adequacy of risk assessments and proposed safe methods of work
  • Conduct and assist in assessments and monitoring i.e. Noise / Vibration etc
  • Ensure that Safety audits for the Business Unit are carried out annually
