QHSE Coordinator
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
The Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QHSE Coordinator to join a well-established chemical manufacturing business in Wellingborough. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) compliance who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will play a key role in maintaining and improving the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements. Working closely with multiple departments, you will help drive a positive culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Quality
- Support the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances.
- Maintain quality procedures, records, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor quality KPIs and prepare reports for management review meetings.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Health & Safety
- Conduct workplace inspections and internal safety audits.
- Assist with risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
- Maintain health and safety documentation, permits, and training records.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness initiatives.
- Monitor contractor compliance with site safety procedures.
Environmental
- Support compliance with environmental legislation and permits.
- Monitor waste management, recycling, and environmental performance.
- Assist with environmental audits and inspections.
- Maintain records relating to waste disposal, emissions, and environmental compliance.
- Support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Compliance & Training
- Maintain QHSE policies, procedures, records, and documentation.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Coordinate employee training records and competency documentation.
- Assist during regulatory inspections and customer audits.
- Promote a positive health, safety, and quality culture across the business.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Essential
- A qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Chemistry, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or currently working towards it).
- Previous experience in a QHSE, Health & Safety, Quality, or Compliance role.
- Experience within a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

Desirable
- Internal Auditor qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
- Knowledge of COSHH, REACH, CLP, and chemical handling regulations.
- Experience using QHSE management systems or compliance software.
- Experience with Power BI.
