Health, Safety & Environment Manager
Location: Bridgwater - Head Office
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary Range: £50,000.00 - £55,000.00 per annum + Benefits

What We Do
STEF Langdons delivers chilled and frozen food to almost any location across the UK and Ireland within 24 hours, supported by 12 depots and a fleet of over 500 vehicles.
The Role
As a Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day management of health, safety and environmental compliance across our temperature-controlled transport and depot operations.
- Provide expert advice to managers and employees
- Complete risk assessments, audits and inspections
- Investigate incidents
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Coordinate training
- Maintain accurate compliance records
- Liaise with authorities, contractors, and external auditors
As a competent person for health, safety, and environmental matters, you’ll play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture and driving continuous improvement across the business.

You’ll also liaise with enforcing authorities, statutory bodies, contractors and external auditors as required, maintain accurate records and reports, and act as a competent person for health, safety, and environmental matters across the business.
What You’ll Need
- NEBOSH Diploma (minimum requirement)
- IEMA Foundation in Environmental Management or equivalent environmental qualification (minimum requirement)
- Membership of IOSH or working towards professional membership is desirable
- Previous knowledge of safe systems of work, such as risk assessments, environmental and safety
- Good working knowledge of standard operating procedures within health and safety and environmental fields
- Good verbal communication and listening skills
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to complete tasks fully and on time
- Ability to use initiative to think through problems and find solutions
- Ability to arrange suitable projects for team members
- Ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff and provide advice and support at all levels

- Full UK Driving Licence desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft platforms

Available Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday - Office hours
