Health & Safety Governance Manager (12-month FTC)
Location: London / Hybrid
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + strong benefits
We’re supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation with the appointment of a Health & Safety Governance Manager to provide strategic oversight of H&S governance across the business.
This is a senior-level position working closely with Executive and Board-level stakeholders, helping ensure the organisation’s health & safety strategy, governance framework, and key risks are effectively communicated, monitored, and managed.
Key Responsibilities of the Health & Safety Governance Manager:
- Lead and continually improve the organisation’s Health & Safety governance framework, ensuring alignment from Board and Executive level through to operational committees.
- Work closely with senior H&S leadership, providing strategic advice around key risks, priorities, initiatives, and decisions.
- Coordinate governance agendas, ensuring emerging risks and key H&S priorities receive appropriate senior-level attention.
- Oversee H&S performance reporting, turning data and trends into clear, actionable insight for Executive and Board audiences.
- Monitor the delivery of strategic H&S initiatives, ensuring objectives and milestones remain on track and risks are appropriately escalated.
- Build strong relationships across senior leadership and wider business functions to improve governance, accountability, and H&S performance.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Significant experience within Health & Safety governance, assurance, risk, or strategic H&S leadership.
- Experience working within a large, complex, and preferably regulated or high-risk organisation.
- Strong exposure to senior leadership, Executive, or Board-level stakeholders.
- Experience developing or improving H&S governance frameworks, policies, and reporting structures.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret H&S performance information and communicate key risks clearly.
- The credibility and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and challenge effectively where required.
