Health & Safety Lead Hyperscale Data Centre London – approximately 20 minutes from the City
TClarke are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Lead to take overall responsibility for H&S on a major hyperscale data centre project in London.
The project is currently in preconstruction through to December 2026, before moving into full construction and delivery for approximately three years. This is a long-term opportunity to lead Health & Safety from preconstruction through delivery, commissioning, and final handover.
Working closely with the Project Director, wider project team, client, and supply chain, you will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture and ensuring the highest H&S standards are maintained across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Health & Safety function across the project.
- Develop and implement project H&S strategies, plans, and procedures.
- Provide H&S leadership and guidance to project teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation, CDM Regulations, company procedures, and client requirements.
- Review RAMS, construction methodologies, and safety-critical documentation.
- Lead site inspections, audits, risk reviews, and incident investigations.
- Monitor subcontractor H&S performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Support the safe delivery of complex MEP installation, testing, commissioning, and energisation activities.
- Monitor H&S performance and provide regular reporting to project leadership.
- Engage directly with the client, consultants, and supply chain on H&S matters.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Lead / Senior Health & Safety Manager with:
- Strong experience on major construction, engineering, or MEP projects.
- Experience leading Health & Safety across large and complex project environments.
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- CMIOSH / GradIOSH status would be advantageous.
- Strong experience with RAMS, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Data centre experience is preferable but not essential. Candidates with strong H&S leadership experience across other major and technically complex projects, including commercial, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, and infrastructure, will also be considered.
