The Role
Reporting into LME’s Head of Health, Safety & Security, and working alongside colleagues in the Optimisation, and Workspace & Properties team, this role would develop relationships with LME partner and subsidiary stakeholders and work alongside them to develop their health and safety systems and practices and review performance against audit findings to set them up for success. Whilst this role is primarily working in an event safety capacity, you will also assist subsidiary businesses manage health and safety across the corporate/facilities space, as well as warehousing/logistics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and aligning Partner & Subsidiary policies and arrangements to LME’s existing framework. You will work with LME’s Optimisation team in ensuring that existing partner and subsidiary businesses (and those to be acquired during tenure) have sufficient, proportionate and intelligible health and safety arrangements. This will be informed by existing audit findings completed for LME and their partners/subsidiary businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan partner/subsidiary health and safety assurance roadmap alongside their senior leaders
- Report on progress to LME’s Head of Health, Safety & Security, and LME’s Head of Optimisation
- Equip and assist partner & subsidiary management in creating health and safety arrangements
- Cultivate positive culture of health and safety across partner and subsidiary businesses
- Build foundation for sound health and safety understanding amongst partner & subsidiary units
- Assist Partner & Subsidiary businesses in managing health and safety for event delivery (Green & Purple Guides)
- Develop framework for robust event safety planning and delivery; developing agile and proportionate systems to ensure that stakeholders are engaged at all levels through event lifecycle
- Integrate with event delivery personnel to ensure safe delivery of events
- Ensure that repeatable, robust systems are established for event health and safety management, including event safety plan authorship, critique and development

Success Measures / KPIs
- Ensuring a consistent safety culture across a busy team with a wide and differing events portfolio.
- Development, consultation and implementation of health and safety policies/arrangements
- Delivery of key health and safety partner/subsidiary profiles to LME centrally for oversight
Required Skills
Technical
- NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent
- RQF Level 4 Diploma – Crowd Safety Management
- ISO45001 Lead Auditor qualification
Leadership Competencies
- Adaptable and able to tailor approach, advice and tone appropriate audience
- Confident in analysing ‘work as planned’ vs. ‘work as done’ – and reporting on findings
- Accommodating, coaching mindset – able to build trust by adopting ‘business partner’ approach
- Ability to work at pace, independently and able to integrate health and safety principles into routine event planning and delivery
Required Experience
Essential
- Events-based production, management, or advisory role
- Influencing mid/senior level leadership
- Training delivery
Desired
- Experience of training, mentoring and coaching teams to create a culture of safety first
- Previous work at Mass Participation Events
- Health and safety auditing to ISO 45001
