Health & Safety Manager
Travel and Hotel Stays will be required at various times as will support to additional J&I Contracts. Based on-site at Derwentside IRC
We're seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our Group HSEF team, providing specialist Health, Safety, Environment & Fire (HSEF) support across Derwentside IRC and the wider Justice & Immigration (J&I) business. Reporting to the Senior Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you'll play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver specialist on-site Health, Safety, Environment & Fire (HSEF) support, assurance, and advice.
- Promote understanding of and adherence to corporate, contractual, and regulatory HSEF requirements.
- Advise and support on measures necessary to manage HSEF related risks and vulnerabilities.
- Guide, support, and promote the development, implementation, and continual improvement of protocols necessary to embed a consistent, sustainable HSEF management system.
- Support operational staff and advise upon HSEF awareness and best practices.
- Promote HSEF event reporting and provide HSEF related reports, analysis, and information.
- Review and provide specialist advice on Fire Risk Assessments and HSEF inspections.
- Identify, advise upon, and deliver HSEF related training.
- Provide specialist SME support to bid and transformation projects / programmes.
- Advise upon and deliver HSEF related communications.
- Provide specialist investigatory support in response to SHE related incidents.
- Liaise and collaborate with external agencies and other HSEF professionals.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven expertise of managing HSEF.
- Minimum NEBOSH level 3 (or equivalent recognised body).
- Member of IOSH.
- Specialist Fire Risk Assessment and Environmental qualifications are desirable.
- An understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Ability to influence leaders and managers and various stakeholders to plan and deliver a high-quality safety service.
- Proven ability to manage change.
- Full UK driving licence.
