About the Company

Premier Galvanizing Hull, part of the Joseph Ash Group, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our team. Our mission is to ensure the site meets governmental and company safety standards and procedures.

Role Overview

The Health & Safety Officer will report to the General Manager, supporting the business in "delivering profit safely." They will support all colleagues on Health & Safety matters to ensure the company complies with statutory obligations and fosters a site culture that promotes trust, learning, and reporting at all levels.

Your Day to Day

  • Support the site in complying with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors and shop floor colleagues to provide guidance on all Health & Safety matters, including information, advice, and coaching on relevant legislation and internal HSE systems.
  • Responsible for multiple elements across the Health & Safety model, including incident investigation and risk assessment, indicating necessary measures for continued legal compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively support site processes and participate in daily and weekly processes.
  • Work with the General and Operation Managers to meet site targets for risk management and accident reduction, driving a proactive safety culture through effective communications and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain site compliance within the Group Health and Safety Management System.
  • Support operational leaders in conducting effective investigations and developing sustainable plans to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Participate in change management projects to ensure safety is considered at all times and projects are safely executed.
  • Support shift Supervisors and Managers through guidance to support them in meeting their Health & Safety responsibilities.

  • Requirement for NEBOSH.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
  • A motivated team player who is engaging at all levels.
  • Ability to accept challenge.
  • Understanding of when to escalate and when to take action personally.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
