Health and Social Care Lecturer
Do you have experience in health or social care and want to use it to train the next generation of nurses, carers and health professionals? This part time lecturer role is three days a week with a respected FE college in Surrey.

You will deliver elements of the T Level Health, Level 2 BTEC Health & Social Care Certificate and Level 3 Access to HE Health programmes. You don't need any knowledge of T Levels, but it would be helpful. What matters most is your subject knowledge and how you get it across to learners.
Salary: Up to £39,714.22 FTE, pro rata depending on skills and experience alongside an attractive benefits package and generous holiday entitlement.
Hours: 22.2 hours per week (3 days)
This role is part time and based at a campus location within Surrey with good transport links from surrounding areas. Easily accessible from Woking, Ashford, Weybridge, Guildford, Walton-on-Thames, Esher, Epsom, Staines-upon-Thames and the wider Surrey area. You'll be joining a successful and well-respected FE education provider in Surrey as a Health and Social Care specialist, becoming part of a dedicated and friendly teaching team.

What you'll be doing...
- Planning and teaching engaging lessons, schemes of learning and assessments that reflect current practice in health and social care
- Assessing learners' work and carrying out internal verification to awarding body standards
- Acting as a personal tutor, giving pastoral support, tracking progress and attendance
- Helping to develop the curriculum
- Supporting learner recruitment through interviews, open days, taster days and parents' evenings
- Organising trips, visits and work experience, and going with learners when needed
What you'll bring...
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in health, or significant experience in the health and social care sector
- Experience of teaching, assessing or coaching, ideally on Level 2 and Level 3 programmes
- GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above, or equivalent
- A Level 5 teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one (funded support is available)
- Good knowledge of current trends in health and social care, plus a strong commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding
- Clinical or nursing experience, or a TAQA/assessor or IQA qualification, would be a real plus

You'll Have
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in health or a related subject, and/or considerable experience in the health and social care industry
- A Level 5 teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- A TAQA, assessor or IQA qualification (desirable)
- Excellent communication and organisation skills, with good time management
- A caring, supportive approach that puts learners first
- Confident IT skills and a real team player attitude
