Pay Range
- National: £28,000 - £37,000
- London Region: £29,500 - £38,000
- Greater London: £31,000 - £40,000
Working Hours/Pattern:
- Full-time, although we would be happy to consider applicants who are looking to work on a part-time basis. If you would like to explore this further please discuss this with the talent partner for this role. Please note our ability to accommodate flexible working arrangements will vary from role to role, dependent on business requirements.

The successful candidate for this role will be required to work across Kensington, Chelsea, and Westminster so will need to be based local to these areas and willing to travel regularly throughout the week. Please note, internal applications for this role close on 18th September 2026.
Who we are
Formed in 2015, Reed Wellbeing has expanded rapidly, developing and delivering evidence-based lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that help people improve their health. Guided by psychologists, dietitians, physical activity experts, and other specialists, our local teams support people to make sustainable, positive behavioural changes using engaging and interactive interventions that address individuals’ needs. We deliver our services in the heart of communities, working with local public, private, and voluntary partners.
We currently provide a range of adult health and wellbeing services in over 20 local authorities. Services include:
- Weight management
- Physical activity (including GP referral)
- Smoking cessation
- Intensive personal support
- Healthy eating and drinking
- Health checks
- Other healthy lifestyle promotion, outreach, support, and training services – either directly or through trusted partners.
Our One You service helps its local residents live healthier lives and reduce their chances of developing serious illnesses. Our support includes guidance on moving more, being tobacco free, eating well, drinking less, losing weight, and NHS health checks.
What is the role about?
As a Health & Wellbeing Coach Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering and managing community-based lifestyle and wellbeing services. This role is multi-disciplinary and involves leading one or more specialist service streams, line managing a small team of Health Check Practitioners, directly delivering health and wellbeing behavioural lifestyle interventions, and supporting delivery of programme engagement requirements.
Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Taking Ownership
- Line managing a small team of Health Check Practitioners to deliver high impact, high-quality lifestyle and wellbeing services.
- Taking lead responsibility for the service stream.
- Conducting team meetings, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Monitoring performance, trends, and best practice to identify areas of improvement for the designated service.
- Working Together
- Liaising with other internal stakeholders such as the Programme Support team and Health & Wellbeing Managers to support the scheduling and coordination of team resources.
- Promoting the service, meeting with stakeholders, and attending local events to build and strengthen referral pathways.
- Supporting the recruitment and induction of new employees.
- Being Fair, Open and Honest
- Directly delivering the services within the service stream, such as health checks.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a health-related subject (e.g., health improvement, promotion, public health, nutrition, etc.); and/or
- A directly relevant qualification to the service stream specialism. For example:
- Adult Weight Management / Intensive Support / Healthy Eating & Drinking – REPS Level 3 or Level 3 qualification in health improvement or promotion or public health or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds Level 3 Health Trainer or equivalent);
- Physical Activity – REPS Level 3 qualification or equivalent (Level 4 qualifications may be required for certain services);
- Smoking Cessation – NCSCT Certificates in Smoking Cessation Practitioner including the following areas: smoking cessation; mental health, pregnancy, and post-partum period, VBW, and second-hand smoke.
Essential Criteria:
- Knowledge and understanding of the service stream(s) they will lead on, e.g., diabetes prevention, weight management, smoking cessation, physical inactivity, etc.
- Experience of managing a service/projects/stakeholder relationships/teams within a target-orientated environment.
- Experience of promoting/marketing public services to stakeholder / referral partners.
- Demonstrable experience of developing productive external stakeholder relationships.
- High level of personal organisation and time management skills.
- Demonstrable experience of having delivered in, project managed, or managed a team delivering service specialism (or similar health service).
- People management or project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence others.
- Customer-orientated and committed to continually improving the quality and effectiveness of service delivery.
- Experience of delivering services within a quality assurance and governance framework.
- Ability to implement business objectives and closely monitor achievement of targets.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to set objectives, prioritise, and provide sound judgement and decision-making.
- Proven ability to work on your own initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to establish an effective and appropriate rapport with programme participants who need to achieve and maintain lifestyle changes (e.g., healthy weight, increased physical activity, reduction in alcohol intake).
- Active listening skills whilst maintaining a non-judgemental perspective on participant’s lifestyle, weight, and health.
- Ability to communicate sensitively and accurately, information regarding an individual’s health and weight.
- Ability to coach individuals and groups to identify solutions and develop knowledge and skills to support behavioural change.
- Demonstrable time management and personal organisation skills with the capacity to monitor, evaluate, and report on work carried out.
- Willingness to undertake evening and weekend work as required.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel in order to deliver programmes across the designated region.
- A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.

Desirable Attainments:
- Professional qualification & registration with professional body relevant to service stream. For example, for Adult Weight Management, this would be:
- Either a Degree in dietetics; or
- A Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in dietetics; and
- Registration with BDA or equivalent.
- Experience of managing teams within a customer-focussed, target-orientated environment.
- Experience of delivering group-based services/programmes.
- Level 3 Training qualification (e.g., PTTLs/Award in Education & Training).
Desirable Criteria:
- Demonstrated capability to work with MS Office packages and basic databases; capable of maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in paper and electronic systems to a high standard. Holding such records securely and confidentially.
- Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include: Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Guajarati, Polish, Serbian, and Greek (dependent on location of service delivery).
- Experience in using coaching skills and/or behavioural techniques to help individuals to improve their health and/or physical fitness.

Location
