Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Healthcare Assistant role based in Belfast. The Healthcare Assistant will support patients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and nutrition, while maintaining dignity and respect. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting nursing staff with basic clinical tasks
- Monitoring and recording observations
- Promptly reporting any changes in patients’ conditions
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Following infection control and health and safety procedures
- Correctly using manual handling techniques
- Providing emotional support
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Contributing to a positive, person-centered care culture in nursing homes and hospital settings

Qualifications
- Strong patient care skills, including personal care, mobility support, and basic observation monitoring.
- Proficiency in safe manual handling techniques and adherence to health and safety guidelines.
- Knowledge of basic medicine-related tasks within scope of practice, such as supporting medication prompts under supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in a healthcare or care home setting is highly beneficial.
- Relevant care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) preferred.
- Ability to work flexibly, follow instructions, and maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and person-centered care.
