Role Description
The Healthcare Assistant at Care Home Furniture will work on-site in Bedford, supporting day-to-day care activities that promote the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of residents. This part-time role includes assisting with personal care, mobility, and daily living tasks in environments furnished with specialist care home products. The Healthcare Assistant will help maintain high standards of hygiene, support residents with dignity and respect, and communicate effectively with colleagues and other care professionals. Responsibilities also include following health and safety procedures, reporting concerns promptly, and contributing to a supportive and person-centered care culture. The role requires reliability, compassion, and a practical approach to supporting residents and care teams.

- Candidates should possess strong patient care skills, including experience supporting personal care, mobility, and daily living needs.
- Candidates should possess manual handling skills and an understanding of safe moving and handling techniques.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of health & safety practices relevant to care environments, including infection control and risk awareness.
- Candidates should possess effective interpersonal skills to communicate empathetically with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess a basic understanding of medicine-related procedures, such as following care plans and supporting medication routines under supervision, where appropriate.
- Previous experience in a care home, nursing home, or similar care setting is beneficial.
- Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, maintain accurate records, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
