Role Description

The Healthcare Assistant will provide direct support to patients and clinical staff in a healthcare setting, ensuring safe, respectful, and efficient care. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role also involves:

  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Adhering to health and safety procedures
  • Collaborating closely with nurses, physicians, and other team members to enhance patient experience

This is a full-time, on-site role based in London, requiring consistent presence and reliability to support patient needs and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Strong patient care skills, including assisting with daily living activities and providing compassionate, person-centered support.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and mobility support to reduce risk of injury for patients and colleagues.
  • Understanding of basic health & safety practices, infection control, and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for communicating with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Foundational understanding of medicine and medical terminology to follow care plans and instructions accurately.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare assistant, care worker, or similar patient-facing role is desirable.
  • Relevant healthcare or care-related certification or training (e.g., NVQ in Health and Social Care or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Ability to work shifts, maintain accurate records, and uphold confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.
