APPLICANTS MUST HAVE AN NVQ LEVEL 3 IN CARE and previous experience as an HCA with a Care Competency Certificate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Band 3 Healthcare Assistants to join our team within Surgery, Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Theatres.

Please note that this vacancy may close early. To apply for this role you must have experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant and have a National Vocational Qualification NVQ Level 3 qualification. (NVQ is a UK-based, work-based certificate)

We are seeking highly enthusiastic and motivated individuals, with a passion for providing excellence within patient care, to join our team to help support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, holistic care to patients admitted to the Surgical Assessment Unit and Surgical Rapid Access clinic.

You would also be required to bring photo ID and your NVQ 3 Certificate to this interview.

Clinical Support:

  • Assist patients with daily personal care: hygiene, dressing, toileting, oral care, and continence needs.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (NEWS2): temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Perform various additional clinical activities such as blood glucose monitoring, urinalysis, venepuncture and recording of ECGs.
  • Assist in mobility.
  • Support patients with dietary needs, including post-abdominal surgery requirements (e.g. low-residue diets, enteral feeding assistance).
  • Assist in pain management by reporting pain scores and responding to patient discomfort under supervision.
  • Chaperone patients during investigations (e.g. wound assessments, line insertions).
  • Escort patients to theatre, imaging, and other departments as required.
