Role Description

The Healthcare Assistant role at Starry Care is a contract, on-site position based across Staffordshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Kent, Wiltshire, and surrounding areas. In this role, the Healthcare Assistant will provide direct patient care in home or care settings, including assisting with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily living activities.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong patient care skills, including experience providing personal care and supporting daily living activities.
  • Candidates should possess sound knowledge of health and safety practices and be able to follow relevant policies and procedures.
  • Candidates should possess manual handling skills and be able to use mobility aids and techniques safely.
  • Candidates should possess interpersonal skills that enable clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Candidates should possess a basic understanding of medicine administration processes and be able to follow instructions from registered professionals, where applicable.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Care Certificates including practical Trainings) are beneficial.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or care home setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work flexibly, follow care plans, maintain accurate records, and respect confidentiality is essential.
