Role Description:
This full-time and part-time, on-site Healthcare Assistant role is based in Bradford, Halifax and surrounding areas (Yorkshire) and involves delivering high-quality, person-centered care to residents and patients in care homes and healthcare settings. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and hydration, while maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect. The Healthcare Assistant will monitor and record observations, support individual care plans, and promptly report changes in health or behaviour to senior staff. The role also involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, and adhering to health & safety and infection control procedures. The Healthcare Assistant will contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive environment and follow organisational policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Strong patient care skills, including person-centered support and understanding of basic care practices.
  • Manual handling skills and safe mobility assistance, following relevant guidance and training.
  • Knowledge of basic medicine support tasks within role boundaries and under appropriate supervision.
  • Awareness of health & safety standards, infection control, and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including clear communication, empathy, and teamwork.
  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or similar care role is beneficial.
  • Relevant care certifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Ability to work flexibly, follow care plans, and maintain accurate records and documentation.
