Role Description
The Healthcare Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Worthing. The Healthcare Assistant will support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and assistance with meals, while promoting dignity, respect, and independence. - Monitoring and documenting patient conditions
- Following care plans
- Supporting nursing and clinical staff with routine tasks and basic healthcare procedures
- Maintaining a safe, clean environment
- Adhering to health and safety guidelines
- Following manual handling procedures
- Providing emotional support
- Building positive relationships with individuals and families
- Communicating effectively with the wider care team

Qualifications
- Strong patient care skills, including experience with personal care and support for daily living activities
- Sound knowledge of manual handling techniques and safe mobility assistance
- Understanding of medicine-related tasks appropriate to a healthcare assistant role, including following medication policies and procedures as directed
- Awareness of health & safety practices in a care setting, including infection prevention and risk management
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including empathy, clear communication, and the ability to build trust with individuals and families
- Relevant care certifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) are beneficial
- Previous experience in a care or support role, particularly in community or residential settings, is advantageous
- Ability to work shifts, follow care plans, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
