Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
Priory Hospital Lincolnshire has an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team.
Located in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, Priory Hospital Lincolnshire is a low secure unit for males with mental health conditions. It offers support to those who are detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA).
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
- Support Registered Nurses with the assessment, planning and delivery of individual patient care.
- Provide practical support with personal care, including dressing, bathing and toileting, while maintaining dignity.
- Observe patients closely and report any changes in their physical, mental or emotional wellbeing.
- Carry out delegated interventions such as observation and engagement, patient escorts and supporting de-escalation.
- Contribute to a safe, clean and supportive ward environment while working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.

What you'll bring to the role
Essential for the role
- Minimum NVQ Level 1 or GCSEs in Maths and English.
- Good communication, observational and listening skills.
- Basic IT skills and an understanding of confidentiality.
- Ability to provide compassionate, dignified and responsive patient care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and respond appropriately to challenging situations.
The following experience would be beneficial
- Previous experience in a healthcare or care setting.
- Experience supporting individuals with personal care needs.
- Experience working with patients who may present challenging behaviours.
- Experience of working as part of a wider care or multidisciplinary team.
