We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Wards department.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties Of This Role Include
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
- Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
- Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
- Report any concerns about a patient's condition or wellbeing promptly to the Registered Nurse or relevant clinician.
- Record care provided and patient observations clearly and accurately on appropriate documentation systems or electronic health records.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and data protection policies.
- Follow all infection prevention and control procedures, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and environmental cleaning standards.

- Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
