Ready to Shape the Future of Healthcare Cleaning?

Let's be honest. This isn't your average cleaning role.

This is an opportunity to become one of the leading voices in healthcare cleaning and support services, helping to influence strategy, drive innovation, improve patient environments, and support operational excellence across one of the UK's largest healthcare service providers.

We're looking for an experienced healthcare cleaning professional who can combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, inspiring leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement.

If you're someone who gets excited about healthcare standards, innovation, compliance, sustainability, and developing great teams, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Why This Role?

As our Healthcare Cleaning Services Expert, you'll become the trusted authority on healthcare cleaning and associated services across Medirest.

You'll work closely with operational teams, clients, clinical stakeholders, and senior leaders, helping shape the future of healthcare cleaning while ensuring we continue to deliver safe, compliant, and exceptional environments for patients, visitors, and staff.

One day you might be supporting a major mobilization.

The next, you'll be reviewing new cleaning technologies, advising a client on healthcare standards, conducting audits, or developing best practices that impact thousands of people across the country.

No two days are ever the same.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

  • Support the development and delivery of our national Healthcare Cleaning Strategy.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for NHS National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness, IPC requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Support bids, mobilizations, and operational transformation projects.
  • Translate healthcare policy and guidance into practical operational solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with Infection Prevention & Control teams and healthcare stakeholders.

Driving Operational Excellence

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, productivity, and service consistency.
  • Conduct site audits, reviews, and benchmarking exercises across healthcare contracts.
  • Support workforce planning and labor optimization initiatives.
  • Drive measurable improvements in performance and compliance.
  • Use data and insight to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

Leading Innovation

We're passionate about staying ahead of the curve.

  • Research and introduce new cleaning technologies.
  • Explore automation, robotics, and digital solutions.
  • Improve performance monitoring and compliance reporting.
  • Drive innovation that enhances safety, efficiency, and environmental performance.
  • Keep Medirest at the forefront of healthcare cleaning excellence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
