Job Summary
An exciting opportunity to take your first step in a career in Healthcare Science. You will be working in the Radiation Protection Service helping our experienced team in the Approved Dosimetry Service. At the same time you will be following a level 2 apprenticeship in Healthcare Science, getting to understand the science behind the role.
Main Duties, Tasks & Skills Required
You will be assisting our Healthcare Science Associate in preparing and reading personal radiation monitors. Full training will be provided. You will be part of a wider Radiation Protection team of 40 Clinical Scientists, Clinical Technologists and Administrative Staff. You will need to demonstrate good attention to detail, dexterity and focus.

Qualifications
Essential
- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4/C or above to include Maths, English and Science
Experience
Essential
- Able to exercise own initiative when dealing with issues within own area of competence
Desirable
- Knowledge of accountability, use of relevant Trust and departmental policies and procedures and importance of maintaining documentation
- A reasonable knowledge of health and safety principles
