The Role
Are you passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children, young people and families? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a caring and motivated Healthcare Support Worker to join our Community Nursing Children and Families team. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work alongside Health Visitors, supporting families within their homes and local communities to improve health, wellbeing and outcomes. You will be part of a compassionate and supportive service dedicated to delivering person-centred care and reducing health inequalities. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (COS).
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Part-time, Permanent
- Location: Possilpark Health Centre
- Working Pattern: Tuesday - Friday
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Health Visitors in delivering person-centred care to children, young people and families within community settings
- Assist with health promotion activities that encourage positive health and wellbeing outcomes
- Support the delivery of clinics, screening programmes and community-based services
- Provide practical support and guidance to families, helping them access appropriate services and resources
- Maintain accurate records and report relevant information to the Health Visiting team
- Participate in group activities and programmes designed to support children, parents and carers
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to provide coordinated support for families

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- SVQ Level 3 in Healthcare or equivalent relevant experience, or willingness to work towards this qualification
- Experience of working with children, young people, families or vulnerable individuals in a health, social care or community setting
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while also managing delegated tasks independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships
- Understanding of person-centred care and a commitment to promoting health and wellbeing
- Basic IT and digital skills with the ability to maintain accurate records
- A caring, professional and compassionate approach with a commitment to supporting children and families within the community
