The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Support Worker to join our specialist Urogynaecology Mesh Service. The service supports women experiencing complications associated with pelvic mesh procedures and those requiring specialist urogynaecological assessment and care. As part of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will work within a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a supportive and rewarding environment. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Full Time, Permanent
- Location: The New Victoria Hospital
- Working Pattern: Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and clerical support to the multidisciplinary team within the Urogynaecology Mesh Service
- Support patients with activities of daily living and assist in the delivery of high-quality patient care
- Assist registered nurses and clinicians during specialist urogynaecology procedures and investigations
- Undertake clinical duties including venepuncture, obtaining specimens, recording observations and preparing patients for procedures
- Carry out telephone assessments and appropriately escalate concerns to registered nursing staff
- Contribute to stock control, housekeeping duties and the safe use of equipment and resources
- Undertake administrative duties including appointment scheduling, reception duties and responding to telephone enquiries

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job:
- Relevant experience working within a healthcare support role or similar patient-facing environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and build positive working relationships
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload in a busy clinical environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate and professional approach
- Experience using IT systems and confidence in accurate data entry and record keeping
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and respond appropriately to changing priorities
- Flexible, adaptable and committed to delivering high standards of patient care and confidentiality
