Job Description
Available Positions
Posts available are:
- 29 hours per week at Daleview or Mayfield
- 18 hours per week at Tayview
About the Role
Applications are welcomed from individuals who have experience supporting adults with a learning disability working within Health or social care services, supporting the assessment/treatment and overall wellbeing needs of individuals with a learning disability, complex health needs, and behaviors that may challenge, from admission to discharge.
The service supports Adults with a Learning Disability presenting with a variety of complex physical and additional support needs, with behaviors that may challenge. This service has:
- An assessment and treatment unit (Mayfield)
- A bespoke purpose-built unit (Tayview)
- A forensic low secure regional unit (Daleview)
Key Responsibilities
- Work within talented teams within a multidisciplinary environment
- Impact positively on the lives of many individuals
- Work within the service; post holder will be expected to work across inpatient services
- Rotate where service priority/needs may be
- Work as part of the nursing team to support individuals during their inpatient stay
- Provide care for individuals with targeted clinical duties (under supervision)
- Support individuals that may present with behaviors that may challenge
- Support individuals with personal care
- Support individuals to appointments in other areas
- Support individuals in accessing the community to help build confidence within the community through initial inpatient admission through to discharge

Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in partnership with individuals, their families, the wider multidisciplinary teams, as well as other third sector agencies
Qualifications and Experience
- Evidence of Training in the SVQ programmes for Health Care Support Workers at level 3, or equivalent, and/or experience in this role is desired but not essential, as in-house training will be given
Mandatory Requirements
- Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment

Working in the United Kingdom
