The Role
Are you a caring, compassionate and motivated individual looking to make a genuine difference to patients' lives? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker to join our Urology team within Acute Services. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of one of the UK's largest healthcare organisations, delivering high quality person-centred care within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. You will work closely with registered nursing staff, supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey while developing your skills and experience within a specialised clinical setting. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- You will be based at The Glasgow Royal Infirmary
- Working Pattern: Monday to Sunday Day & Night Shift 12 hr shift rota
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver delegated care, treatments and clinical interventions under the supervision of registered healthcare professionals
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions, escalating concerns appropriately to support safe and effective care
- Support patients with rehabilitation and therapeutic programmes, promoting independence and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate patient records and effectively use electronic clinical systems and digital platforms
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality person-centred care
- Support the induction, education and supervision of new staff, students and junior colleagues where appropriate
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, service development activities and the safe management of clinical resources and equipment

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- Educated to SCQF Level 7 in a healthcare-related subject or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant clinical procedures, care plans and treatment pathways
- Experience of delivering high-quality care within a healthcare environment
- Understanding of person-centred care and a commitment to treating patients with dignity, compassion and respect
- Awareness of local and national healthcare priorities and current healthcare practice
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development and a commitment to lifelong learning
- Excellent communication, team working and organisational skills with the ability to work effectively within role boundaries
