About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Newton Abbot Hospital. This rewarding role offers the chance to provide high-quality urgent and emergency care to both adults and children in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Our UTC treats a wide range of minor injuries and illnesses, ensuring every day brings new challenges and learning opportunities. You'll gain valuable experience caring for patients of all ages while helping to ensure they receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and utilise a range of clinical competencies, including cannulation, venepuncture, wound care, basic wound closure, plaster application, ECG recording, and monitoring and interpreting vital signs for both adults and children.
- Contribute to adult and paediatric assessments and play an important role in identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Work closely with colleagues throughout each shift and liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive timely, effective, and coordinated care.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and projects that enhance patient experience and outcomes.
