About Salford Professional Development
Salford Professional Development (SPD) is part of the University of Salford, delivering professional development, leadership and specialist training to organisations and professionals across the UK.
Our programmes combine academic expertise with practical industry experience, supporting organisations to develop their people, strengthen leadership capability and respond to changing professional and sector requirements. We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Tutor to join our growing team and support the development and delivery of high-quality healthcare and professional development programmes.
The Role
As a Healthcare Tutor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, practical and high-quality learning to healthcare professionals, managers and leaders. You will contribute to the design, development and continuous improvement of our healthcare portfolio, ensuring that programmes reflect current practice, legislation, regulation and the evolving needs of the sector.
The role will include a combination of teaching, programme development, learner support, assessment and quality assurance, with delivery taking place both online and face-to-face.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive healthcare and professional development programmes.
- Facilitate workshops, discussions, activities, case studies and practical learning.
- Develop and update learning materials in line with current healthcare practice and sector developments.
- Support the design and development of new healthcare programmes.
- Adapt teaching and learning approaches to meet the needs of different learner groups.
- Provide learners with appropriate guidance, feedback and support.
- Contribute to assessment and quality assurance processes where required.
- Ensure programme delivery meets relevant learning outcomes and accreditation requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare legislation, regulation, policy and professional practice.
- Work closely with SPD colleagues, University academics, subject matter experts and client organisations.
- Contribute to programme evaluation and continuous improvement.
- Support the development of new business opportunities through subject expertise and programme development.

About You
We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional and educator who can combine strong sector knowledge with an engaging and practical approach to learning. You will ideally have:
- Significant professional experience within healthcare.
- Experience of teaching, training, facilitation or professional education.
- A relevant healthcare qualification.
- Experience working with healthcare professionals, managers and/or senior leaders.
- Knowledge of current healthcare policy, regulation and professional practice.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience designing or adapting learning materials.
- The ability to create inclusive, engaging and interactive learning environments.
- Experience delivering both face-to-face and online learning.
- A commitment to learner development and continuous improvement.

A teaching, education, coaching or equivalent qualification would be desirable, as would experience of working within the NHS, social care, independent healthcare or another regulated healthcare environment.
