Experienced Air Source Heat Pump Engineer / Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer

Greener Energy Group has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Air Source Heat Pump Engineer / Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer to join our award-winning renewable energy company.

We are looking for an experienced Heat Pump Engineer, ASHP Engineer, Renewable Heating Engineer or Gas Heating Engineer with strong servicing, breakdown, fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Previous Air Source Heat Pump experience is highly desirable, and we are particularly interested in engineers who have experience servicing, maintaining, fault finding, commissioning or installing domestic Heat Pump systems.

Additional Heat Pump manufacturer and product training will be provided to further develop your renewable heating knowledge.

Due to continued growth in our Air Source Heat Pump installation and servicing operations, we are expanding our Service & Aftercare team and looking for another experienced engineer to join us.

The Role – Heat Pump Service & Breakdown Engineer

This is a varied field-based role ideally suited to an experienced Air Source Heat Pump Engineer, Heating Engineer, Gas Service Engineer or Breakdown Engineer who enjoys fault finding and solving technical problems.

Your Work Will Include

  • Air Source Heat Pump servicing and maintenance
  • Heat Pump breakdowns and fault finding
  • Heat Pump diagnostics and performance checks
  • Air Source Heat Pump commissioning and remedial work
  • Diagnosing heating system flow and performance issues
  • Domestic boiler servicing
  • Gas boiler breakdowns and fault finding
  • Reactive heating system maintenance
  • Heating system repairs
  • Unvented hot water systems
  • Heating controls and system diagnostics
  • Supporting our Air Source Heat Pump installation teams when required
  • Providing excellent technical and customer service

You will be supported by our experienced Operations, Installation and Aftercare teams.

Heat Pump Experience

We would particularly like to hear from engineers with existing Air Source Heat Pump / ASHP experience.

Ideally, you will have experience in some or all of the following:

  • Air Source Heat Pump servicing
  • ASHP fault finding
  • Heat Pump diagnostics
  • Heat Pump installation
  • Heat Pump commissioning
  • Renewable heating systems
  • Low-temperature heating systems
  • Weather compensation
  • Heating controls
  • Unvented cylinders and hot water systems
  • System balancing and flow rates
  • Diagnosing heating performance issues

Previous manufacturer-specific Heat Pump training or renewable heating qualifications would be advantageous.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should have:

  • Gas Safe qualifications
  • ACS CCN1 and CENWAT1 as a minimum
  • NVQ or equivalent qualification in Plumbing & Heating
  • Unvented hot water qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' plumbing/heating experience
  • Previous Air Source Heat Pump experience highly desirable
  • Strong service, breakdown and fault-finding experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent timekeeping and attention to detail

Experience with Oil or LPG heating systems would also be advantageous but is not essential.
