🌱 WE’RE HIRING: HEAT PUMP SYSTEM & DESIGN ENGINEER
Green Home Systems is looking for an experienced and technically minded Heat Pump System & Design Engineer to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong knowledge of domestic heating systems, Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), heating and hot water design, and a passion for delivering high-quality, technically sound solutions.
🔧 The Role
You will lead and oversee the technical design and specification of domestic heating systems, ensuring every system is accurately designed, appropriately specified and compliant with relevant standards, legislation and industry guidance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and overseeing the technical design and specification of domestic heating systems, including ASHP installations and associated heating and hot water systems.
- Reviewing and approving heat-loss calculations, system designs, equipment selections and technical specifications.
- Providing technical guidance on complex or non-standard installations and resolving technical challenges.
- Supporting our Sales team with quotations, tenders and customer proposals.
- Attending client and customer meetings where technical input is required.
- Attending pre-installation meetings with clients and end users to discuss system designs, technical requirements and installation considerations.
- Ensuring customer expectations are aligned with the technical capabilities and limitations of the proposed system.
- Keeping up to date with regulatory and technical changes and assessing their impact on company procedures, designs and specifications.
- Ensuring surveys, calculations, designs and specifications comply with applicable legislation, standards, manufacturer instructions and recognised industry guidance.
- Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues across the business.
- Promoting good technical practice, accuracy and continuous professional development.
- Attending installation sites where required to investigate complex technical issues or provide technical assistance.

👷 Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with practical experience and can confidently take ownership of system design from initial survey through to installation.

You should be comfortable working with customers, installers, sales teams and other technical colleagues, and have the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and practically.
Experience with ASHP system design, heat-loss calculations and domestic heating/hot water systems is essential.
