About Domestic Group⁺
Domestic Group⁺ is a growing mechanical and electrical services company specialising in heat pumps, heating, cooling and electrical solutions across Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties. As our renewables division continues to expand, we're looking for an experienced Heat Pump Surveyor & Designer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer interaction. You'll play a key role in designing and quoting renewable heating solutions, ensuring every installation is technically sound before it reaches our installation team. We're looking for a technically minded professional who can confidently survey properties, design systems and work closely with customers from enquiry through to installation.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the technical journey of our heat pump projects, including both air-to-water and air-to-air heat pump systems. Working alongside our operations team, engineers and manufacturers, you'll ensure every project is designed correctly, quoted accurately and handed over seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out technical site surveys for heat pump installations.
- Design and specify air-to-water and air-to-air heat pump systems.
- Complete heat loss calculations and system sizing.
- Produce accurate quotations and technical proposals.
- Liaise with customers throughout the quotation and pre-installation process.
- Provide technical guidance to our installation engineers where required.
- Ensure designs comply with MCS standards and current industry regulations.
- Work closely with manufacturers on product selection and technical support.
- Maintain accurate survey records and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement within our growing renewables division.

About You
We're looking for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys solving problems and delivering an excellent customer experience.
Essential
- Proven experience surveying and designing air source heat pump systems.
- Experience carrying out customer surveys and preparing quotations.
- Strong understanding of domestic heating systems and heat pump design principles.
- Good working knowledge of MCS standards and renewable heating best practice.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Relevant industry qualifications.

- Experience with air-to-air heat pump systems.
- Experience using heat loss calculation and design software.
- Experience working within a renewable heating or HVAC contractor.
