Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Heating and Air Conditioning Engineer role based in Wantage. The engineer will install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial and residential properties, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing faults, performing routine and reactive maintenance, conducting system testing and commissioning, and completing accurate service documentation. The role also involves collaborating with project managers and other trades on refurbishment and fit-out projects, supporting HVAC system design reviews, and communicating clearly with clients about work carried out and any recommended improvements. The engineer is expected to follow health and safety procedures, maintain tools and equipment, and contribute to high standards of customer service and professionalism on-site.

- Candidates should possess strong HVAC Engineering and HVAC skills, including installation, commissioning, fault-finding, and performance optimization.
- Candidates should possess HVAC Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for reviewing drawings, specifications, and layouts, and supporting system planning.
- Candidates should possess Maintenance & Repair skills for planned preventive maintenance, emergency call-outs, and long-term system reliability.
- Relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeships in HVAC, mechanical engineering, or building services; industry certifications (e.g., F-Gas, gas qualifications) are highly beneficial.
- Good understanding of UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and energy-efficiency best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, and to use diagnostic tools and test equipment effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the local region as required.
