Our client is looking for an experienced Heating and Plumbing Estimator to join their team.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining site surveys, estimating, technical support and quality assurance.
You will visit customers to assess and quote heating and plumbing work, prepare accurate estimates and provide clear scopes of work for their Engineers. You will also inspect ongoing and completed jobs to ensure they meet the agreed specification, relevant regulations and their quality standards.
Although estimating and quality assurance will form the main part of the role, you must remain willing and able to work on the tools when technical or operational support is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Survey and assess heating and plumbing jobs.
- Discuss requirements with customers and recommend suitable solutions.
- Calculate labour, materials, equipment and timescales.
- Prepare accurate and commercially viable quotations.
- Provide clear scopes of work to engineers and plumbers.
- Identify technical risks and potential additional costs.
- Inspect ongoing and completed work.
- Identify defects and arrange appropriate corrective action.
- Support engineers with fault finding and complex technical issues.
- Carry out practical heating and plumbing work when required.
- Maintain accurate survey, quotation and inspection records.
- Promote safe working practices and regulatory compliance.

About You
You will need:
- Substantial hands-on heating and plumbing experience.
- Previous experience surveying, estimating or quoting work.
- Strong knowledge of heating and plumbing installations, repairs and fault finding.
- The ability to calculate labour and material requirements accurately.
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of job costs and margins.
- The confidence to inspect workmanship and address quality issues.
- Strong customer-service, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Competence using email, job-management systems and estimating software.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A willingness to rarely work on the tools when required.

Relevant heating and plumbing qualifications are essential. Gas Safe registration and qualifications in unvented hot-water systems, renewable heating or commercial systems would be advantageous.
